Open Car Transport

The industry standard. Built for reliability, priced for everyone.

Open transport is the backbone of the U.S. auto shipping industry. Your vehicle travels on a multi-car open-air carrier — the same method automakers use to deliver millions of new vehicles nationwide every year. It's the most cost-effective and widely available option for everyday vehicles across any route.

  • Lowest rates — carriers distribute cost across multiple vehicles
  • Fastest pickup — open carriers make up 90%+ of the national fleet
  • Typical 1–3 business day pickup availability on major routes
  • Carrier cargo insurance included — verified prior to booking
  • Door-to-door service on virtually every U.S. route

Best for

Sedans, SUVs, trucks, minivans, and crossovers

Not ideal for

Enclosed Auto Transport

Maximum protection for vehicles that deserve it.

Enclosed transport places your vehicle inside a fully sealed, hard-sided or soft-sided trailer — completely shielded from road debris, weather, UV exposure, and prying eyes. It's the choice of collectors, dealers moving high-value inventory, and owners who simply won't compromise.

  • Complete protection from weather, debris, and UV exposure
  • Soft-tie wheel straps — no metal contact with your vehicle
  • Limited-load trailers (2–6 vehicles) for individualized attention
  • White-glove pickup and delivery with condition photography
  • Carrier insurance checked before we book them

Best for

Luxury, classic, exotic, modified, and high-value vehicles

Not ideal for

Budget-sensitive moves where protection is not a priority

Expedited Car Shipping

Priority booking. Dedicated carriers. Zero delays.

When your timeline can't flex, expedited shipping moves your vehicle to the front of the booking queue. We source dedicated carriers committed to your specific route and pickup window — eliminating the wait associated with standard scheduling. Ideal for corporate relocations, purchase pickups, and last-minute moves.

  • Same-day or next-day pickup available on qualifying routes
  • Dedicated carrier assignment — your vehicle is the priority
  • Direct routing minimizes intermediate stops
  • Real-time carrier contact information provided immediately
  • Available for both open and enclosed transport types

Best for

Time-sensitive relocations, auction pickups, and corporate moves

Not ideal for

Flexible timelines where cost savings matter more than speed

Dealer & Fleet Transport

Multi-unit logistics engineered for dealerships and auction buyers.

We provide scalable, high-volume transport solutions for franchised dealers, independent lots, auction buyers, and fleet managers. Consolidated shipping, flexible scheduling, and dedicated account management reduce your per-unit cost while keeping inventory moving efficiently across any number of locations.

  • Multi-unit and consolidated carrier loads for cost reduction
  • Dedicated account management for volume clients
  • Flexible scheduling accommodates auction pickup windows
  • Consistent carrier vetting — same standards on every shipment
  • Invoice billing and custom reporting available for fleet accounts

Best for

Dealerships, auction buyers, fleet managers, and wholesale operators

Not ideal for

Individual one-time shipments (use Open or Enclosed instead)

Non-Running Vehicle Shipping

inoperable pricing upfront

Non-Running Vehicle Shipping

Your vehicle doesn't need to run. Ours does.

Inoperable vehicles require specialized equipment — winches, flatbeds, and low-clearance ramps — that standard carriers don't always carry. We assign carriers specifically equipped to handle non-running, non-steering, or non-braking vehicles, ensuring safe loading and delivery without damage from improvised handling.

  • Carriers equipped with hydraulic winches and flatbed capability
  • Safe loading protocol for vehicles with no power, brakes, or steering
  • Accurate pricing when inoperable status is disclosed at booking
  • Works for flood-damaged, project, and salvage vehicles
  • Forklift-capable loading available for severely damaged vehicles

Best for

Project cars, flood-damaged vehicles, salvage titles, and broken-down vehicles

Not ideal for

Vehicles that can be made operable before shipping (saves on cost)

Motorcycle Transport

Bikes need different handling. We do it right.

Motorcycles ship on enclosed trailers in custom wheel chocks and soft-tie restraint systems — never on open multi-car carriers. Dedicated motorcycle carriers prevent the shifting and vibration that cause damage on improper equipment. Whether it's a touring bike, sport bike, cruiser, or custom build, we match you with carriers who specialize in two-wheel freight.

  • Enclosed trailers with wheel chocks and soft-tie restraint systems
  • Carriers specialize in motorcycles — not adapted auto haulers
  • Crating available for high-value custom builds
  • Condition inspection and photographic documentation at pickup
  • Door-to-door service available on most routes

Best for

Motorcycles, sport bikes, cruisers, choppers, and custom builds

Not ideal for

Standard automobiles — use open or enclosed transport instead

How It Works

From Quote to
Delivered Keys

Every shipment follows the same four-step process regardless of service type. We handle all carrier coordination — you only need to be available at pickup and delivery.

Why use a broker?

An FMCSA-licensed broker like American Auto Link has legal obligations to vet carriers, verify insurance, and maintain booking records — providing a layer of accountability that direct carrier searches don't offer. Our network access also means more carrier options on your route, typically resulting in lower pricing than going direct.

01

Request Your Free Quote

Enter your pickup city, delivery city, vehicle details, and first available date. Receive an instant price estimate — no account required, no hidden fees.

02

Confirm & Pay Deposit

Lock in your order with a deposit. We immediately begin sourcing verified carriers on your route. You'll receive a carrier confirmation — including name, insurance info, and contact number — before pickup.

03

Vehicle Pickup

The carrier arrives at your address within the agreed window, photographs your vehicle's condition, completes the Bill of Lading with you, and secures your vehicle for transport.

04

Delivery & Final Inspection

Your vehicle arrives at the destination. Inspect it thoroughly before signing the delivery BOL. Note any discrepancies in writing before signing. Pay the balance directly to the carrier.
